Kongoni Senior Team at the Martin Luther King Baseball Tournament – JKUAT

The Kongoni Senior Baseball Team showed remarkable resilience during the Martin Luther King Baseball Tournament held at JKUAT. Due to limited funds, the team traveled over 300 kilometers using public matatus and, with no accommodation available, slept in tents at the baseball field throughout the tournament.

Despite these challenges, the team delivered outstanding performances, defeating all Kenyan teams they faced and earning a place in the finals, where they competed against a team from South Sudan. Their journey was a powerful demonstration of determination, teamwork, and passion for the game.

This achievement highlights both the talent within the Kongoni Network and the need for greater support to enable teams to compete under better conditions.
